Enforcement of the conflict of interest policy can be found in section 6 of the policy: 6. Annual statements. Each director, principal officer, and member of a committee with board-delegated powers annually shall sign an acknoweldgement and disclosure for that: a. Affirms that such person has received and reviewed a copy of the corporation's conflict of interest policy as provided herein and agreed to comply with its terms; b. Requires that such person disclose any financial interest in or fiduciary responsibility towards any entity such person believes may enter into a proposed transaction with the corporation in the upcoming year.

Compensation is determined and voted on by members of the executive committee. The committee uses criteria based on performance targets set during an annual and quarterly review to determine compensation structure. These criteria targets include: 1. Delivering on strategic planning. 2. Increasing sustainable fundraising programs. 3. Increasing corporate and individual donors. 4. Utilizing the board and committee structures. 5. Increasing the number of participants at programming locations. 6. Increasing diversity among participants. The board also looks at other size related organizations, geographic location and programs served in determining base salary.

The otganization is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. However, income from certain activities not directly related to the organization's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. The organization's federal exempt organization returns are subject to examination by the internal revenue service, generally for three years after they are filed. The organization is no longer subject to such examinations for years before 2021. The organization has evaluated its tax positions for uncertainty and has no unrecognized tax matters that are required to be disclosed.

THE COMMITTEE USES CRITERIA BASED ON PERFORMANCE TARGETS SET DURING AN ANNUAL AND QUARTERLY REVIEW TO DETERMINE COMPENSATION STRUCTURE. THESE CRITERIA TARGETS INCLUDE: 1. DELIVERING ON STRATEGIC PLANNING. 2. INCREASING SUSTAINABLE FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS. 3. INCREASING CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS. 4. UTILIZING THE BOARD AND COMMITTEE STRUCTURES. 5. INCREASING THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AT PROGRAMMING LOCATIONS. 6. INCREASING DIVERSITY AMONG PARTICIPANTS. THE BOARD ALSO LOOKS AT OTHER SIZE RELATED ORGANIZATIONS, GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AND PROGRAMS SERVED IN DETERMINING BASE SALARY.
