Central indiana jobs with justice is building a strong, progressive labor movement that works in coalition with community, faith, and student organizations to build a broader global movement for economic and social justice. We believe in fighting for workers' rights, economic justice, and a sustainable global economy. We are committed to a vision of a united states and a world where workers have collective bargaining rights, employment security, and a decent standard of living.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Education & organizing for workers' rights 1: workers' rights supported ongoing worker organizing. We mobilized our supporters for actions to support seiu local 1 janitor ana rosas, who was retaliated against and eventually won back her job and back pay. We walked the strike lines with fight for 15 workers and protested the attack on the u.s. Postal service in solidarity with letter carriers and mail clerks. Fought for collective bargaining by organizing community to support of library workers during their contract negotiations. We held actions at the city-county council and the library board to demand library workers be treated with dignity. As a result of our campaign, library ceo won scrooge of the year and the library workers won a holiday bonus. Donated use of facilities received during 2014 was 3,600.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Education & organizing for social justice 2: social justice fought for a raise for minimum wage workers. Although the fight for living wage for all minimum wage workers continues, we succeeded in moving senator donnelly fully in support of our issues following the raise for america bus tour stop. Not to let coats off the hook, we held a rally outside his office and drew media attention to his anti-worker stance. Confronted corporate greed and demanded that employers be held accountable for their struggling employees. Our coalition led our largest ever walmart protest on black friday, in solidarity with strikers and communities across the country. We supported member-led actions against corporate personhood, fast track tpp, and corporate welfare. Laid the groundwork for a living wage ordinance in indianapolis. Through the raise the wage town hall, meetings with our city-county councilors, and outreach to other organizations, we are building a powerful base to get passed a living wage ordinance for indianapolis donated use of facilites received during 2014 was 1,800.
