“Education & organizing for social justice 2: social justice fought for a raise for minimum wage workers. Although the fight for living wage for all minimum wage workers continues, we succeeded in moving senator donnelly fully in support of our issues following the raise for america bus tour stop. Not to let coats off the hook, we held a rally outside his office and drew media attention to his anti-worker stance. Confronted corporate greed and demanded that employers be held accountable for their struggling employees. Our coalition led our largest ever walmart protest on black friday, in solidarity with strikers and communities across the country. We supported member-led actions against corporate personhood, fast track tpp, and corporate welfare. Laid the groundwork for a living wage ordinance in indianapolis. Through the raise the wage town hall, meetings with our city-county councilors, and outreach to other organizations, we are building a powerful base to get passed a living wage ordinance for indianapolis donated use of facilites received during 2014 was 1,800.”
