Techpoint engages an accounting firm to prepare the form 990, and all board members are provided a copy of the form 990 and related schedules to review. Any questions or revisions are addressed prior to submission to the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Conflict of interest policies are completed annually by all board members and staff. The policy statements are reviewed annually by the executive committee. When foundation business is being conducted and there is a conflict, the board or staff members are not allowed to participate or vote on any actions related to the business or transaction at hand. This is then documented in the board minutes.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

The foundation's endowment is used to provide grant and program support, in addition to operating support, for the programs of techpoint foundation for youth.

PART X, LINE 2:

Professional accounting standards require the organization to recognize a tax liability only if it is more likely than not the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. The organization has examined this issue and has determined that there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions. Tax years ended after june 30, 2018 are open to audit for both federal and state purposes.

AWARDED SCHOOLS RECEIVED ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO START A TEAM FOR STUDENTS IN 1ST - 12TH GRADE. DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, 45 TEAMS RECEIVED GRANTS AND TEAMS WERE FORMED AS A RESULT OF THIS EFFORT. 1457 ROBOTICS TEAMS RANGING FROM ELEMENTARY TO HIGH SCHOOL WERE SUPPORT AND 17,568 STUDENTS WERE EXPOSED TO ROBOTICS PROGRAMMING IN AND OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM AS A RESULT OF THIS EFFORT. 568 TEACHERS SERVED AS COACHES AND OVER 200 VOLUNTEERS ASSISTED WITH ROBOTICS TOURNAMENTS ACROSS THE STATE.

WE PURCHASED THE VEX GO CLASSROOM BUNDLE FOR EACH OF THE 8 SCHOOLS, PROVIDED TEACHER TRAINING ON HOW TO USE THE EQUIPMENT AND IMPLEMENT THE CURRICULUM AND OBSERVING THEIR CLASSROOMS. WE REQUIRED EACH TEACHER TO COMPLETE PRE AND POST SURVEYS AS WELL AS ADMINISTER THEM TO THEIR STUDENTS. AFTER RECEIVING AN OVERWHELMING POSITIVE RESPONSE, WE WERE ABLE TO LAUNCH A STATEWIDE GRANT APPLICATION TO RECEIVE EQUIPMENT AND CURRICULUM TRAINING FOR 52 MORE SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE FOR THE 22-23 SCHOOL YEAR.FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT - TPF4Y'S NEWEST OPPORTUNITY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OLD NATIONAL BANK BRINGS FINANCIAL LITERACY TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. IN ITS PILOT YEAR, WE CONDUCTED 3 FINANCIAL LITERACY SESSIONS AT SHORTRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL, IMPACTING 20 STUDENTS.
