“Volunteers consist of the following:* Peer Support Group Facilitators: Facilitate support groups for children and their families grieving the death of a loved one. A personal interview, background check and twenty-eight (28) hours of training are required before beginning work as a facilitator. A facilitator's time commitment is two weekday evenings per month from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on a set schedule. In order to establish consistency and continuity in support of our children and their families, a minimum one-year service commitment is required for group facilitators.* Spanish Speaking Peer Support Group Facilitators: We are seeking Spanish speaking facilitators for our support groups for children and their grieving families. The requirements are the same as those for the peer support group facilitators.* Houseparent Teams: Houseparents assist with setup, cleanup and serving pizza to the families who attend our peer support group sessions. Additionally, houseparents clean and organize the Volcano and Quiet rooms. Houseparents commit to serving once a month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and are trained on the job. Houseparent teams are essential to the continuity of the organization.* Camp Facilitators: Facilitate weekend camps, Camp Good Grief (summer), Teen Retreat (spring), or Family Camp (fall). Facilitators agree to attend the entire weekend. A personal interview, background check and one day of training are required.”
“Meetings for on-site programs are held twice a month per family and the auxiliary; school programs meet weekly for ten weeks. Families choose from several days of the week for the grief program (Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays) and attend twice per month on that day. Erin's House Peer Support Group Services, and education related to these services, is provided in the following ways: * On-site Peer Support Services are available at 5670 YMCA Park Drive West, Fort Wayne, IN 46835* To serve the area's growing Hispanic population, we provide Spanish-speaking groups as part of our on-site programs.* Students, parents/caregivers, and teachers receive crisis response debriefing, in a peer-support setting, when tragedy and death affect their classrooms or youth groups.* We provide children and their parent(s)/caregiver(s) age and situational appropriate books and activity booklets at intake. * In addition to on-site services, we provide telephone support for families, friends, and concerned members of the community, schools, counselors, and local churches. * In order to raise community awareness of the way in which children grieve and how best to support them, we give community presentations to schools, social groups, churches, health fairs, festivals, colleges, and many corporations.”

“The organization has adopted FASB ASC 740-10-25 and determined no material unrecognized tax benefits or liabilities exist as of December 31, 2024. The adoption of FASB ASC 740-10-25 did not impact the organization's financial position or results of operations. If applicable, the organization will recognize interest and penalties related to underpayment of income taxes as income tax expense. As of December 31, 2024 and 2023, respectively, the organization had no amounts related to unrecognized income tax benefits and no amounts related to accrued interest and penalties. The organization does not anticipate any significant changes to unrecognized income tax benefits over the next year. The organization is generally no longer subject to examination by Federal and State agencies for years before 2021.”
