A copy of the conflict of interest policy is given to all board members, employees and volunteers or other key stakeholders upon commencement of such person's relationship with acep or at the official adoption of such policy. Each board member, officer, employee, and volunteer shall sign and date a disclosure form at the beginning of his/her term of service or employment and each year thereafter. Failure of anyone to sign does not nullify the policy. Following full disclosure of a possible conflict of interest, the board of directors shall determine whether a conflict of interest exists and, if so the board shall vote to authorize or reject the transaction or take other action deemed necessary to address the conflict and protect the acep's best interest. Both votes shall be by a majority vote without counting the vote of any interested director, even if the disinterested directors are less than a quorum provided that at least one consenting director is disinterested.

81% of the students improved by 4 or more reading levels. 3,987 student hours and 3,442 tutor hours were logged. At year end, we had 174 active students and 159 volunteers. During the current 2018-2019 school year, there are 141 students enrolled in project reads with an additional 21 students that were on the waiting list due to their literacy site of choice being at capacity. These achievements underscore not only the effectiveness of the project reads program, but also the importance of the program to young children and their readiness for learning. At project reads, we are very excited to be partnering with the northeast indiana regional partnership's big goal collaborative. Called "follow the reader," the online series of five 30-minute online training modules is part of an initiative to raise the overall number of students in the region who can read at grade level by the end of the third grade. The project includes an online interactive series aimed at helping parents, tutors and mentors as they work with youths to improve their reading skills. Using curriculum developed by project reads, follow the reader provides our organization the opportunity partner with new organizations and share our quality curricula with the rest of the northeast indiana.

THE FOLLOWING HIGHLIGHTS OUR RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE 2017-2018 PROGRAM YEAR: 99% OF PROJECT READS STUDENTS DEMONSTRATED IMPROVEMENT. 81% OF THE STUDENTS IMPROVED BY 4 OR MORE READING LEVELS. 3,987 STUDENT HOURS AND 3,442 TUTOR HOURS WERE LOGGED. AT YEAR END, WE HAD 174 ACTIVE STUDENTS AND 159 VOLUNTEERS. DURING THE CURRENT 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR, THERE ARE 141 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN PROJECT READS WITH AN ADDITIONAL 21 STUDENTS THAT WERE ON THE WAITING LIST DUE TO THEIR LITERACY SITE OF CHOICE BEING AT CAPACITY. AT YEAR END, WE HAD 174 ACTIVE STUDENTS AND 159 VOLUNTEERS. DURING THE CURRENT 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR, THERE ARE 141 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN PROJECT READS WITH AN ADDITIONAL 21 STUDENTS THAT WERE ON THE WAITING LIST DUE TO THEIR LITERACY SITE OF CHOICE BEING AT CAPACITY. THESE ACHIEVEMENTS UNDERSCORE NOT ONLY THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PROJECT READS PROGRAM, BUT ALSO THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PROGRAM TO YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEIR READINESS FOR LEARNING. AT PROJECT READS, WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO BE PARTNERING WITH THE NORTHEAST INDIANA REGIONAL PARTNERSHIP'S BIG GOAL COLLABORATIVE. CALLED "FOLLOW THE READER," THE ONLINE SERIES OF FIVE 30-MINUTE ONLINE TRAINING MODULES IS PART OF AN INITIATIVE TO RAISE THE OVERALL NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN THE REGION WHO CAN READ AT GRADE LEVEL BY THE END OF THE THIRD GRADE. THE PROJECT INCLUDES AN ONLINE INTERACTIVE SERIES AIMED AT HELPING PARENTS, TUTORS AND MENTORS AS THEY WORK WITH YOUTHS TO IMPROVE THEIR READING SKILLS. USING CURRICULUM DEVELOPED BY PROJECT READS, FOLLOW THE READER PROVIDES OUR ORGANIZATION THE OPPORTUNITY PARTNER WITH NEW ORGANIZATIONS AND SHARE OUR QUALITY CURRICULA WITH THE REST OF THE NORTHEAST INDIANA.
