In 2024, indiana organ procurement organization d.b.a indiana network facilitated 1388 organ transplants from 509 organ donors leading to 1,216 lives saved. Additionally, 1,669 tissue and cornea donors gave the gift of healing and sight, leading to 17,361 tissues recovered. At our on-site organ recovery unit, we recovered 597 organs from 153 donors. We also supported over 2,500 family members of organ, tissue and eye donors through our aftercare program. Our outreach programs generated over 20 million impressions through social media and media outlets. Trained volunteers contributed over 12,000 hours of service, and we reached over 50,000 students and community members with direct education on donation and transplantation. We continue to see an increase in the number of first-person-authorized donors every year, which is a direct result of our outreach and education efforts.

Mission

In 2024, indiana organ procurement organization d.b.a indiana network facilitated 1388 organ transplants from 509 organ donors leading to 1,216 lives saved. Indiana donor network has members who elect the governing board, which includes: (a)four directors nominated by the president and chairman of indiana university health, inc., including at least two at large directors; (b)two directors nominated by the dean of the indiana university school of medicine, including at least one at large director; (c)two directors nominated by the chancellor of indiana university - purdue university at indianapolis, including at least one at large director; (d)two directors nominated by the president of st. Vincent hospital and health care center, inc., including at least one at large director; (e)two directors nominated by the president of lutheran hospital of indiana, inc., including at least one at large director.

The 990 is preliminary reviewed by the vp of finance and the chief executive officer/president of the organization. The 990 is given final approval by the finance committee as well as the governing board of directors. The 990 is also prepared and reviewed by an independent accounting firm.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C Conflict of interest policy

Indiana donor network's conflict of interest policy applies to all employees, officers, and board members of the organization. Conflicts of interest are reviewed annually using a conflict of interest disclosure statement required to be completed by each employee, officer, and board member as well as a board of directors policy on conflict of interest acknowledgement. Individuals impacted by such conflict of interest will recuse themselves from discussion and from voting on all matters that may be impacted by such interest. The organization's board chairperson is responsible for ensuring that the conditions of the policy are met with respect to officers and board members. The director of business analytics and regulatory compliance is responsible for ensuring that the conditions of this policy are met with respect to employees.

The compensation review was conducted in january of 2024 by an external compensation consultant, facilitated internally by the director of human resources. The director of human resources provides this externally validated information to the organization's compensation committee to review, approve, and make recommendations to the governing board. The presentation to the governing board is made by the chairman of the board of directors.

WE ALSO SUPPORTED OVER 2,500 FAMILY MEMBERS OF ORGAN, TISSUE AND EYE DONORS THROUGH OUR AFTERCARE PROGRAM. OUR OUTREACH PROGRAMS GENERATED OVER 20 MILLION IMPRESSIONS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND MEDIA OUTLETS. TRAINED VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED OVER 12,000 HOURS OF SERVICE, AND WE REACHED OVER 50,000 STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH DIRECT EDUCATION ON DONATION AND TRANSPLANTATION. WE CONTINUE TO SEE AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF FIRST-PERSON-AUTHORIZED DONORS EVERY YEAR, WHICH IS A DIRECT RESULT OF OUR OUTREACH AND EDUCATION EFFORTS.
