The organization delegated the management duties to medical association management (mam), a division of the illinois state medical society (isms). Mam provides administrative, board governance, membership, publication and communications, website, financial, microsurgery fellowship match, and annual meeting services to the organization.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 6

The organization has six classes of membership: founding, active, associate, honorary, emeritus and candidate. Active and candidate members are allowed to vote, hold an elected office position and serve on committees. Emeritus members are allowed to vote and serve on committees, but are not allowed to hold elected office positions. Associate members are allowed to serve on committees, but are not allowed to vote or hold elected office positions. All other classes of members are not eligible to vote, hold an elected office position or serve on committees.

The applications of active or associate members are reviewed by the membership committee and candidates are then submitted to the executive council. The committee report, after approval by the executive council, is submitted to the membership for a three-quarter affirmative vote to elect. Honorary members are nominated by the executive council and elected by a three-quarter affirmative vote of the voting members present at the annual business meeting. Candidate members are nominated by an active member and endorsed by two active members.
