Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The fund obtained its latest determination letter on february 25, 1974, in which the internal revenue service stated that the fund, as then designed, was in compliance with the applicable requirements of the internal revenue code. The fund has been amended since receiving the determination letter. However, the fund administrator and the fund's tax counsel believe that the fund is currently designed and being operated in compliance with the applicable requirements of the internal revenue code. Therefore, they believe that the fund was qualified and the related trust was tax-exempt under section 501(c)(9) as of the financial statement date. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require fund management to evaluate tax positions taken by the fund and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the fund has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. The fund administrator has analyzed the tax positions taken by the fund, and has concluded that as of june 30, 2016 and june 30, 2015, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. The fund is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The fund administrator believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for tax years prior to the year ended june 30, 2013.

THE FUND HAS BEEN AMENDED SINCE RECEIVING THE DETERMINATION LETTER. HOWEVER, THE FUND ADMINISTRATOR AND THE FUND'S TAX COUNSEL BELIEVE THAT THE FUND IS CURRENTLY DESIGNED AND BEING OPERATED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. THEREFORE, THEY BELIEVE THAT THE FUND WAS QUALIFIED AND THE RELATED TRUST WAS TAX-EXEMPT UNDER SECTION 501(C)(9) AS OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT DATE. ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES GENERALLY ACCEPTED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA REQUIRE FUND MANAGEMENT TO EVALUATE TAX POSITIONS TAKEN BY THE FUND AND RECOGNIZE A TAX LIABILITY (OR ASSET) IF THE FUND HAS TAKEN AN UNCERTAIN POSITION THAT MORE LIKELY THAN NOT WOULD NOT BE SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. THE FUND ADMINISTRATOR HAS ANALYZED THE TAX POSITIONS TAKEN BY THE FUND, AND HAS CONCLUDED THAT AS OF JUNE 30, 2016 AND JUNE 30, 2015, THERE ARE NO UNCERTAIN POSITIONS TAKEN OR EXPECTED TO BE TAKEN THAT WOULD REQUIRE RECOGNITION OF A LIABILITY (OR ASSET) OR DISCLOSURE IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
