Activity 2

Six hundred and twenty eight students signed athletic participation forms in the trine athletic department in fiscal year 2011. The male and female population chose from 22 varsity programs. The staff included 20 head coaches, four athletic trainers, a sports information director, one athletic director, one administrative assistant, and 49 assistants. The goals of the athletic department meet or exceed those set forth by the national collegiate athletic association division iii and the michigan intercollegiate athletic conference. The mission of this department is to provide individuals with a successful program of study along with the enjoyment of college athletics, leading to a successful post-graduation life. The athletic department is committed to providing year-round guidance, activities, and services to its athletes and the community. Facilities are available and in constant use by the school population and the surrounding community. Short-term and long-term goals focus on providing all individuals with programs and appropriate support to enhance their potential for individual success.

Activity 3

The office of student services exists to give students the best college experience possible, inside and out of the classroom. The staff provides a network of supportive services to help students keep their day-to-day lives on campus running smoothly. They also oversee over 60 student-run organizations and create a schedule of enriching and entertaining activities for students from fall through spring semester. Students can choose from service organizations, campus ministry, athletic support groups, intramural sports, student government, honor societies, sororities and fraternities, and professional societies. The office also provides support during finals week, such as its complementary midnight breakfast, a big price break on wings and jones sodas, a dessert and coffee bar, and free stress-relieving massages. Wacky wednesdays bring a themed event with food. Free movies in the university center theater, dances, bands, acts, and shows all year keep campus life busy and interesting. The staff organized more than 100 events for students, faculty, staff, advisers, and community members in fiscal year 2011. Instances of individual service number in the thousands. Over 1,000 students lived on campus during the 2010/11 academic year.
