Exists to distribute donated funds to community agencies. It is the general goal to distribute as much of the donated funds as reasonably possible. These donations are the life-blood of many of the community agencies that receive these gifts. The united way of ashland county strives to measurably improve the quality of people's lives by bringing the community together to effectively address human need and potential. This is achieved by working collaboratively with other organizations and partner agencies, organized labor, other non- profits, foundations, education, government, and businesses to create community impact by investing in programs that deal immediately with people's short-term needs while working on long-term solutions to the challenges facing individuals and families.

In accordance with the fasb accounting standards codification 740, income taxes, the organization evaluated its tax positions and determined that its tax positions are more-likely-than-not to be sustained on examination. Accordingly, there are no unrecognized benefits or applicable interest and penalties that should be recorded. The organization is subject to routine audits for any tax periods in progress. The organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years ending prior to june 30, 2022.

EXISTS TO DISTRIBUTE DONATED FUNDS TO COMMUNITY AGENCIES. IT IS THE GENERAL GOAL TO DISTRIBUTE AS MUCH OF THE DONATED FUNDS AS REASONABLY POSSIBLE. THESE DONATIONS ARE THE LIFE-BLOOD OF MANY OF THE COMMUNITY AGENCIES THAT RECEIVE THESE GIFTS. THE UNITED WAY OF ASHLAND COUNTY STRIVES TO MEASURABLY IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF PEOPLE'S LIVES BY BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER TO EFFECTIVELY ADDRESS HUMAN NEED AND POTENTIAL. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND PARTNER AGENCIES, ORGANIZED LABOR, OTHER NON- PROFITS, FOUNDATIONS, EDUCATION, GOVERNMENT, AND BUSINESSES TO CREATE COMMUNITY IMPACT BY INVESTING IN PROGRAMS THAT DEAL IMMEDIATELY WITH PEOPLE'S SHORT-TERM NEEDS WHILE WORKING ON LONG-TERM SOLUTIONS TO THE CHALLENGES FACING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.
