“Mission: irtf call together communities to be in solidarity with oppressed people in central america and colombia to achieve peace, justice, human rights, and systemic transformation through nonviolence education; promoting human rights for all people. Program accomplishments education around human rights, conditions in central america and how those situations mirror, parallel, relate to or directly differ from the context of the human rights condition of the other global regions. We are promoting participatory democracy and community engagement in pursit of the common good. Our community has prioritized communal art, holistic wellness, and mutual aid as ways to remain resilient in the face of oppresion and violence. It is our hope that all people are able to thrive in abundantly resourced geographies. We encourage nonviolent communication and mindfulness practices through our accompaniment programs. Program accomplishments cont. Fair labor practices education focuses on anti-slavery, anti-sweatshop work, pro-labor, organizing efforts for collective and collaborative work places, promoting fair trade and sustainability. We support the un declared universal human right to organize, rest, fair compensation and unionization. Our work also uplifts the rights of nature, mother earth, waterways, and ecosystems to protect from distractions.
