FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The organization's mission is to provide instruction in god's word and conventional instruction that meets or exceeds state standards for all who desire a biblical foundation and to serve children who are at-risk of not completing high school and those who are underserved in traditional educational systems.

Been a successful tool in exposing students to math using hands-on methods to visually reach the student. Eca provides a summer enrichment program focusing on math and reading skills to students who need remedial help, as well as those who want to maintain and increase their skills in these areas. This program has been successful in presenting alternative summer learning to the community. It was also recognized as an exemplary school program by the association of christian schools international (acsi). Our creative arts program provides students an opportunity to showcase other special gifts and talents outside of academic performances. It also allows them the opportunity to develop self-esteem, confidence, and public speaking skills while learning about their ancestry, culture, and history. The career assessment program (7th grade) and the social skill intervention program (3rd - 4thgrades) are two programs developed to allow students the opportunity to research and discover career opportunities and possibilities, and to establish career plans and aim for educational goals beyond high school. The program covers topics such as drafting a job resume, successfully completing middle school, diligently completing their high school diploma requirements, and considering ohio post-secondary college-university credits during high school. Our social skills intervention program teaches children the hidden rules and habits of the social classes. The program also helps them develop discourse language ability that enables them to function in a middle class environment using the language of negotiation and mediations skills. Our entrepreneurship/financial literacy program (5th-8th grade) introduces our students to the importance of understanding self-sufficiency through the development of business opportunities. They develop skills in business planning, budgeting, securing business financing, marketing, and other skills necessary for business success. In addition, they are trained in financial literacy and acquire skills in personal finance management. They are exposed to successful entrepreneurs in various fields who will avail themselves to the students for both training and mentoring. The burton morgan foundation supports this program. We introduced creative remnant entrepreneur workshop (c.r.e.w.) as a new club for the 2015/2016 school year as a result of the great success and public demand of our summer e-club. This club focuses on helping students stay focused on their mission as entrepreneurs while exploring other options and avenues of being an entrepreneur. In keeping with our commitment to serve children defined as "at-risk," we offer a critical usda child nutrition program, and we are also a provider for the autism scholarship program, jon peterson special need program and the ohio educational choice programs. These were developed by the ohio department of education to give parents a choice in education.

Schedule D, Page 2, Part V, Line 4

The funds purpose is to provide a vehicle for donors to make endowment contributions to the organization in order to provide sustainability and a future revenue stream.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The preparation of financial statements in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america requires the organization to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the organization. The organization has determined whether any tax positions have met the recognition threshold and have measured the organization's exposure to those tax positions. Management believes that the organization has adequately addressed all relevant tax positions and that there are no unrecorded tax liabilities. Federal and state tax authorities generally have the right to examine and audit the previous three years of tax returns filed. Any tax related interest or penalties, of which there were none, would be recorded as management and general expense in the accompanying statement of activities.

IRS990/Desc0EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY'S ("ECA") ACADEMIC PROGRAM IS NOTED FOR EXCELLENCE AND HIGH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT WITH STUDENTS PERFORMING AT OR ABOVE GRADE LEVEL. THE STUDENT-TEACHER RATIO IS 1 TO 18. WE HAVE ADDED AN EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM TO SERVE OUR STUDENTS THROUGH COGNITIVE SKILL ASSESSMENTS AND EXERCISES, AND AN INTERVENTION PROGRAM FOR OUR STRUGGLING LEARNERS. ECA'S COMMITMENT TO OUR STUDENTS AND THEIR SUCCESS GOES BEYOND SCHOOL HOURS. WE PROVIDE AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES HOMEWORK LABS, SPECIAL TUTORING AND BAND. THIS IS ESPECIALLY BENEFICIAL TO INNER- CITY CHILDREN WHO OFTEN COME FROM SINGLE-PARENT HOMES AND ARE LEFT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES ONCE THE SCHOOL DAY ENDS. WE ALSO PROVIDE AN EXTENDED ACADEMIC DAY MATH PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE GAR FOUNDATION. THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN A SUCCESSFUL TOOL IN EXPOSING STUDENTS TO MATH USING HANDS-ON METHODS TO VISUALLY REACH THE STUDENT.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE FUNDS PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE FOR DONORS TO MAKE ENDOWMENT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ORGANIZATION IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SUSTAINABILITY AND A FUTURE REVENUE STREAM.
IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1THE PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS IN CONFORMITY WITH ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES GENERALLY ACCEPTED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA REQUIRES THE ORGANIZATION TO REPORT INFORMATION REGARDING ITS EXPOSURE TO VARIOUS TAX POSITIONS TAKEN BY THE ORGANIZATION.
