The organization has family and individual annual memberships serving approximately 784 members. 240 lifetime memberships have been purchased and are amortized over a 20 year life. 14 new life memberships joined in 2022. The organization does not have stockholders.

Volunteers provide all aspects of operations of air museum gift shop services, committee leadership, restoration teams for museum pieces,tour guides and facility maintenance. Total volunteer hours for 2023 is 45,064

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Restoration and preservation of military aircraft and maintenance of an aircraft museum facility for the purpose of displaying historically significant memorials and aircraft displays. The museum is open to the public. Restoration teams, museum guides, facility and equipment maintenance, gift shop attendants and committee leadership are all made up of approximately 205 volunteers who provided service hours of 43,747 during 2024 at no cost to the organization. The finance committee and board of directors are also volunteers who meet each month to review the financial status of endowments, investments and financial reports and museum operations. Work begun in 2023 for display of a signficant donation of artifacts from the bob hope foundation. Flight simulators replaced in the training room with maps funds in 2023. The curator fund was active in upgrading display cases, graphics displays, including tables and chairs for the banquet hall and additional enhancements to the korean/vietnam display with lindh family foundation funds. Roof renovations in restoration building and the main hangar project began in 2020 is now completed in 2024. Power station replacement with transformers substation, motor pool and shed projects are completed in 2024.

Aircraft restoration, tooling, library and memorial displays for designated museum restorations established for a multipurpose educational facility including hands on aviation related presentations and audio visual programs. Several new displays were completed and updated to with the use of grants from the supporting organizations. Five new aircraft including ov-1, pitts special,f102, f86a and c47 are new additions to the restoration collection during 2019/2020 and restorations are currently underway. In 2021, an f7u naval aircraft was acquired and resotrations are underway. A new restoration project acquired in 2023 for the museum collection c130 hercules aircraft from government surplus. Maps participates in several community events such as parades, picnics, airshows, scouting, veterans programs and ohio national guard food drives. .

Educating the public on the history of military aviation and its impact on society. This is accomplished through the operations of the aviation museum for the general public along with specific programs for groups such as high school us history classes, boy scouts, and other such young peoples' organizations. Several veterans programs and special celebrations are also held each year. Maps charters a cub scout group and sponsors special group events for the all age scouts. Museum membership includes 267 lifetime memberships. Education programs are supported with grant funds louise timken foundation, akron community foundation and many other private donors and foundations. Maps offers opportunities for students with internships and field trips for school groups to tour the museum and is also involved in community servie projects throughout the year.

THE CURATOR FUND WAS ACTIVE IN UPGRADING DISPLAY CASES, GRAPHICS DISPLAYS, INCLUDING TABLES AND CHAIRS FOR THE BANQUET HALL AND ADDITIONAL ENHANCEMENTS TO THE KOREAN/VIETNAM DISPLAY WITH LINDH FAMILY FOUNDATION FUNDS. ROOF RENOVATIONS IN RESTORATION BUILDING AND THE MAIN HANGAR PROJECT BEGAN IN 2020 IS NOW COMPLETED IN 2024. POWER STATION REPLACEMENT WITH TRANSFORMERS SUBSTATION, MOTOR POOL AND SHED PROJECTS ARE COMPLETED IN 2024.

MAPS PARTICIPATES IN SEVERAL COMMUNITY EVENTS SUCH AS PARADES, PICNICS, AIRSHOWS, SCOUTING, VETERANS PROGRAMS AND OHIO NATIONAL GUARD FOOD DRIVES. .

EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE SUPPORTED WITH GRANT FUNDS LOUISE TIMKEN FOUNDATION, AKRON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND MANY OTHER PRIVATE DONORS AND FOUNDATIONS. MAPS OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS WITH INTERNSHIPS AND FIELD TRIPS FOR SCHOOL GROUPS TO TOUR THE MUSEUM AND IS ALSO INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVIE PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
