“The Ohio Local History Alliance gives grants to member organizations to aid in digitizing collections. No individual grant is for more than $2,500, so individual grantees are not listed here. OLHA also provides scholarships for members to attend our Annual Meeting. OLHA waives registration fees and pays directly for the individuals' hotel rooms, so no funds are paid to individuals. OLHA also provides two prizes for students at the Ohio History Day contest ($100 each for two prizes plus $25 administrative expenses to the Ohio History Connection who administers the contest).”

“Expenses in this line reported in Part III: Program Service: Annual Meeting & Conference: Expenses for the Annual Meeting and Conference included venue rental, audio visual services, catering, supplies, and an honorarium and travel expenses for the keynote speaker. The total expense for these goods and services was $22,863.27. Program Service: Regional Meetings: Expenses for the Regional Meetings included catering charges for the meetings and travel costs to planning meetings and for meeting administration for OLHA's Executive Secretary and designated alternates. The total expense for these goods and services was $7,811.34. Program Service: Digitization Workshops: In July and August 2024 OLHA held 5 workshops educating local historians about digitization of archival collections. Costs for these workshops were snacks for attendees and mileage for presenters, for a total cost of $754.24. Expenses in this line NOT reported in Part III: In addition, OLHA had the following expenses totaling $3,691.07: $436.13 on promotional materials to be distributed at the Annual and Regional Meetings and at other marketing opportunities; $1,122.97 for board and committee meeting expenses for the four scheduled board meetings, one strategic planning meeting, and an awards committee meeting; $725 for liability and directors & officers insurance; $75.05 for contractor 1099s and state reporting expenses; $300 for website hosting; $49 for website plugin for Formidable Forms; $982.92 for merchant fees for credit card payment processing of payments for Annual and Regional Meetings and for memberships purchased online.”

“The Ohio Local History Alliance pays the Ohio History Connection for administrative services largely provided by the Executive Secretary, who serves as a key employee as defined in the 990-EZ instructions, page 18. As per the instructions for Part IV on page 18, the amount OLHA paid OHC for these services is reported as if OLHA had paid the Executive Secretary directly.”
