Mission to advocate for and offer bilingual programs and services to latinos and other individuals, children and families, and to foster self-sufficiency, career readiness, and welath creation for the purpose of creating greater socioeconimic stability in the community.
Mission: to advocate for and offer bilingual programs and services to latinos and other individuals, children and families, and to foster self- sufficiency, career readiness, and wealth creation for the purpose of creating greater socioeconomic stability in the community and the northeast ohio region. Vision: the spanish american committee is the oldest latino serving organization in the northeast ohio region and cleveland. Through its programs and advocacy, and through its collaboration and partnering with other latino serving organizations, it will pursue a more equitable and better life and greater self-sufficiency for all. The organization will also promote bilingualism in spanish and english, and the related cultural traits that have historically defined latinos. The aggregate of sac's efforts will help america become a more ethnically and racially diverse society where people enjoy to the fullest extent possible economic equality and social justice.

“Renter household service objective: to increase affordable housing opportunities for renters. We provide our clients with a number of informational tools to assure that they are living in an affordable and comfortable living environment. To do this, we assist them with rental related problems as well as provide them with information on low-income housing. In addition, we provide a number of seminars to educate clients on landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities and other pertinent issues relating to housing. Home-buyer education financial literacy objective: to increase homeownership through counseling, we educate our clients on the entire process of homeownership and provide them with information regarding resources that are available to them. Through the financial literacy component, we determine the clients financial readiness for homeownership. We attempt to recognize any barriers that are preventing financial stability and establish a plan to solve them. Foreclosure /mortgage delinquency prevention: as the foreclosure crisis continues the spanish american committee housing counseling program will provide counseling services to families having experiencing foreclosure or mortgage delinquency. Through one-on-one and or group setting our certify housing counselors will provide the following services: direct communication: our bilingual counselors have relationships with banks as well as mortgage companies with loss mitigation. Counseling: it is never too late or too early to prevent foreclosure assistance. Our counselors can provided direct dialogue with lenders to develop a work out plan for reinstatement. Assessment: the spanish american committee can negotiate mortgage loan modifications, forbearance agreements' and repayment plans.”
“Ged rise program - the ged rise program assists in improving the quality of life of individuals and families in cleveland and cuyahoga county by identifying strategies to overcome barriers to ged completion. The bilingual ged rise program targets limited english-speaking hispanic and non-hispanic youth between the ages of 1624, who meet one of the following criteria: out of foster care, teen parent, formerly incarcerated as a juvenile or young adult, other eligibility requirements are: have not completed high school, unemployed and not participating in education- related programs. Employment - employment and training program career and adult education services assist clients in gaining employment. Services include the job readiness/job search program which provides bilingual assistance for hispanic and non-hispanic individuals. Job-ready participants are placed within four to six weeks. Services are provided weekdays from 9am-4pm and include: intake and assessment, resume preparation, notary services, intensive case management, employment barrier identification and removal, employment preparation training, one-week class instruction, including lectures and videos, individual coaching, mock interviews, computer lab experience, full-time and part-time employment and placement services, daily job search, employment referrals, online applications, job interviews,employment retention services and customer service and teamwork training.”
