Activity 2

Child care services and youth development - our ymca is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That's why we help young people cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement. Over 70% of the children in our licensed before and after school age program receive financial assistance. Also, 525 second graders from five area school systems participated in our ymca learn to swim program. The alliance ymca keeps its promise that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Activity 3

Social responsibilty and community services - our ymca believes in giving back and supporting our neighbors. Y programs, such as g.i.f.t. And b.i.f.t. Youth programs held at the alliance ymca help to encourage at-risk elementary students to live a healthier life. Also, high school youth with unique physical and/or social needs have the opportunity to complete physical education requirements through an individualized healthy teen program offered at the y. The opportunity to participate in ymca programs is open to all and each program promotes character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
