“Ef5 was founded on 4-20-25 and started our fentanyl awareness campaign at the monthly art of grief workshops in eugene at the mcnail riley house. Our first erika's magic money grant was awarded in june. We started providing free naloxone (narcan) after participating and speaking at the lane county international overdose awareness day walk on august 31st. Ef5 joined the lane county harm coalition and in october sponsored a month-long art exhibition in portland commemorating lives lost to fentanyl poisoning and overdose. In november we started offering naloxone at the monthly eugene grasp support group and on december 11th we joined the save lives oregon network working to reduce the harms of drug use and reverse overdose. We awarded five more magic money grants and delivered our first comfort kit before the end of the year to families effected by a fentanyl loss and received our first case of narcan to start distributing to businesses in areas with a high risk of overdose in 2026. We also launched a new program called lunch with our loved ones. Bereaved parents who have experienced a fentanyl loss bring photos of their children to a restaurant, participate in a say their name ceremony, enjoy a meal together and create awareness in the community.”
