Bishop h royce mitchell urban light community church social services hub inc began as a ministry of urban light community church, muncie, in. When it became apparent that the mission of the ministry was widely grant supported, the administrative decision was made for the ministry to incorporate and apply to be recognized by the irs as a public charity. When urban light community church social services hub, d/b/a as bishop h. Royce mitchell hub at urban light, was granted public charity status, 501(c)(3), urban light community church began transferring the assets which had been received by the church as restricted grants and donations for the purpose of the biship h royce mitchell hub ministry to bishop h. Royce mitchell hub at urban light.

Royce mitchell hub at urban light was formally a ministry of urban light community church until april 5, 2024, when it was incorporated in indiana and, retroactively, granted 501(c)(3) exempt status from the irs, maria wilson was appointned as the volunteer (unpaid) executive director by the board of directors. Maria wilson, an employee of urban light community church, will continue as an unpaid executive director until until feasibly possible for bishop h royce mitchell hub at urban light to contract with urban light community church for the paid services of ms. Wilson.
