IN ADDITION, IT FACILITATES PROJECTS THAT TRANSFORM THE DELIVERY OF HEALTHCARE AND SUPPORT HEALTH WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. WE HAVE STAFF WHOSE DUTIES INCLUDE THE SOLICITATION OF FUNDS FOR THESE INITIATIVES. THESE EFFORTS HAVE LED TO NEW CONVERSATIONS AND POTENTIAL NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES WITH NEW SOURCES FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC, COMMUNITY, MEMBERSHIP GROUPS INVOLVED, GOVERNMENTAL UNITS, AND OTHER PUBLIC CHARITIES. THE INCREASED EFFORTS IN CREATING NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES WILL ALLOW THE ORGANIZATION TO CONTINUE THESE PROGRAMS THAT REPRESENT THE BROAD INTERESTS OF THE PUBLIC ON A CONTINUING BASIS. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE:HEALTHY KIDS CAMPAIGN WHERE WE PARTNER WITH THE OHIO HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (OHSAA) TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLETING ANNUAL WELLNESS VISITS, GETTING PREVENTABLE DISEASE IMMUNIZATIONS, MAKING HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES, STAYING ACTIVE, AND ENHANCING HEALTH LITERACY. THE PARTNERSHIP DISTRIBUTES HEALTH PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS.HEALTHY KIDS STEP IT UP CHALLENGES RAISE AWARENESS WITH SCHOOL LEADERS, ATHLETES, PARENTS, AND FAMILIES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF ACTIVITY AND HEALTHY HABITS IN OUR DAY-TO-DAY LIVING. TEAMS COMPETE FOR THE HIGHEST CUMULATIVE DAILY AVERAGE STEPS OVER THE THREE-WEEK CHALLENGE. THE TEAM WITH THE HIGHEST AVERAGE NUMBER OF DAILY STEPS WILL WIN A PRIZE IN SUPPORT OF THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT'S HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMMING. STEP IT UP CHALLENGE. THIS WALKING CHALLENGE IS OPEN TO OUR MEMBERS, SUPPORTERS, SPONSORS, COMMUNITY PARTNERS, COMMUNITIES, AND FRIENDS AND IS FOCUSED ON INCREASING DAILY ACTIVITY. OUR CONSUMER-FACING ENGAGEMENT SITE FINDTHERIGHTCARE.ORG HAS HELPED LOWER THE NUMBER OF EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT VISITS IN TARGET MARKETS BY 2.1 PERCENT. IT FOCUSES ON GETTING CONSUMERS THE RIGHT CARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE. THE SITE PROVIDES CONSUMERS WITH A SYMPTOMS CHECKER WHICH GUIDES THEM TO THE BEST TYPE OF CARE. IT ALSO OFFERS EDUCATION ABOUT THE DIFFERENT HEALTHCARE OPTIONS AND WHEN TO GO TO YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR, URGENT CARE, OR THE EMERGENCY ROOM. WE CONTINUE OUR ROLE AS A COORDINATOR FOR THE LEAPFROG GROUP, REACHING OUT TO OHIO, MINNESOTA, AND OREGON HOSPITALS AND HEALTH SYSTEMS TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL LEAPFROG SURVEY AND ENLIST THEIR SUPPORT OF LEAPFROG'S BROADER QUALITY-RELATED GOALS. FOR 20 YEARS, THE LEAPFROG GROUP HAS BEEN COLLECTING DATA ON THE SAFETY AND QUALITY OF INPATIENT HOSPITAL CARE THROUGH THE ANNUAL LEAPFROG HOSPITAL SURVEY. OVER 2,100 HOSPITALS AND OVER 100 ASC'S VOLUNTARILY DEMONSTRATED THEIR COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY BY REPORTING THE DATA IN 2023 HELPING CONSUMERS PROTECT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES FROM ERRORS, INJURIES, ACCIDENTS, AND INFECTIONS. |
