“WEDA Pacific Chapter is a chapter of the Western Dredging Association national organization. WEDA Pacifc receives revenue from conference registrations and sponsorships (fee for service). WEDA Pacific Chapter does not independently collect membership fees. WEDA members are assigned to the Pacific Chapter based upon preference or location when they join the national organziation.”

“Pacific Chapter of WEDA had payments due from the national organization of up to $36,000 at YE 2024. This was due to a technology change in the national registration system that resulted in payments not depositing directly to the chapter's bank account, but rather into the national bank account. Once the error was recognized, the chapter representatives and national personnel undertook a forensic investigation to document the funds due to the chapter. In order to access the chapter's prior account with the processing vendor (Stripe), WEDA was required to submit historic governance documents to verify ownership and transfer primary control of the account from the prior Executive Director. These documents could not be located in WEDA archives, nor in the files of current or former board members. These originals also were not available from the IRS public database as the database does not provide onine copies for the year of incorporation. Receipt of copies of the original tax documents was still pending at YE 2024, as well as at time of filing.”
