Activity 2
With the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws, Partnerships for Success, Coal tion Mentoring Grant, Good Behavior Game Contract, Litter Grant and the Appalation Regional Commission Grant we: Provided the Highschool Formal and Project Prom - utilized educational speakers, pledge cards, awarness posters, pledge banners and printed media to secure a safe and sober youth alternative event and prom. Est 450 students attended Compliance Officers - Entire Sheriff's department contracted to conduct compliance checks and party patrols during their off time. The primary officer will also be responsible for recruiting and training underage buyers and completing all paperwork needed for reporting and notification of vendors. This creates a more healthy and safer environment in our community. Coalition Mentoring - helped neighboring community to create their own Anti-Drug Coalition by being thier fiscal agent. Contracted with the local schools to facilitate training to help teachers reduce distractions in the class room. Enabling them to provide a better learning environment. Distractions went from 316/hour to 12/hour. Data from SAMHSA indicates this will reduce substance abuse in these children. 13 teachers trained - Estimated 350 students affected annually. Handled administrative duties associated with the Jackson County Litter Program. Strengthening the linkages with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and with County Government and helping them to achieve an overall cleaner and healther county. Organizing additional Town Hall meetings with all 12 sectors of the community strengthening linkages and partnerships for the common goal of making our community a better place to live by eliminating substance abuse

IRS990/Description0With the grants from Drug Free Communities, we have provided educaional materials, drug free youth alternative events and alcohol and tobacco related educational classes and enforcement. The goal is to reduce tobacco use and alcohol abuse among the 12-25 age group. Project graduation 104 seniors (99% +) attended providing a drug free even and community awarness on graduation night. Tennessee Teen Institute - Educational - allowing highschool age students to learn how to be leaders affecting change in their community involving alcohol and substance abuse and tobacco usage. Sent 28 students. Youth alternative event at New Hope Baptist church activity day. Estimate 175 persons in 12-25 age group in attendance. Spooky Hollow Mock Dui Skit is an annual community activity through the month of October. This activity strengthens the linkage with the Flynn's Lick Volunteer fire Department and the Rescue Squad and serves as a community awarness and educational project. Estimated 3500 persons in attendance with an estimated 75% in the 12-25 age group. Compliance Checks paying underage youth informants for their services. Also strenghens relations with law enforcement. Tobacco use prevention through staff facil itating court ordered tobacco cessation classes for juveniles. Strengthen relations with local judicial system. Classesin the middle school. Classes estimated attendance 130. Americorps Partners in School Success matches the yourth Coalition Service Award. The award is given to electe youth coalition as a senior service learning project. 2 Town Hall meetings have been implemented by the Coalition as a capacity building and communit y mobilization activity to raise community awarness, disseminate informati on and form new partnerships. Estimated 275 persons in attendance. Maze of Terror - Youth alternative event distributed materials and strengt hen linkages and partnerships. Estimated 2500 in attendance of which est 75% were in the 12-25 age group.

Part VI - line 19 - All documents are available at the organizations office and are available upon request. Part VI - line 12c - All monies are distributed through a perchase order system handled by the Fiscal director and Executive director, but they can only be approved by members of the board and two signatures are required to get checks issued. Neither the Fiscal Director or the Executive Director have the authority to approve or sign checks. If a conflict arises checks are not issued. Part VI - line 15 - All compensation requires the unpaid and independant boards approval. They use data from the State of TN comparing compensation with other Anti-Drug Coalitions in the State for all paid contractors and employees. Part VI - line 1b - all board members vote, and any members that attend the meeting have the right to vote.
