“The Board Secretary is in charge of compliance and monitors the introductory and annual filing of conflict of interest questionnaires for board members. Soulforce prohibits all Board and Staff from acting where they have or may have a conflict of interest and requires that Board and Staff disclose relationships with may give rise to potential conflicts of interest. Employees agree to a conflict of interest policy that requires disclosure of conflicts as they arise to the Executive Director. Similarly, the Executive Director is contractually required to disclose conflicts to the Board for reconciliation.”

“Soulforce has updated the mission as articulated in our articles of incorporation to reflect our continued our commitment to the practice of nonviolence while more specifically naming the primary community we have always served and our primary goals for social change. The articles of incorporation now define our mission thus:"The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized are to end the political and religious oppression of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people through relentless, nonviolent resistance."While Soulforce remains committed to social change through political and theological education and nonviolent activism, the audience has shifted away from churches, as they now have their own reform groups, and more toward youth, parachurch organizations, and allied organizations working in many justice movements who seek Soulforce's skills and analysis. To that we have added a more public naming of the spiritual healing and research that we integrate into our work. We have always woven these aspects into our organizing, but we now invest more time and resources into prioritizing these essential practice that uphold the rest of our work.”

In 2017, we participated in 5 direct actions and 2 campaigns to decloak institutions and ideologies harming LGBTQI People, People of Color, Women, and other marginalized identity groups.
