“Main street murals mission is to illustrate barstow's past to enhance its future. We are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the historical, ecological and cultural heritage of the mojave desert, through the development of creative art, education and recreational opportunities, to enrich the community and attract tourism.”

“Youth education program: the after school youth program explores historical and environmental subjects through a creative arts medium. The program nurtures appreciation and expression of california history through the production of large public art, builds community supporrt, deters graffitti and offers vocational training that will futher the youths' skills. This five month program is filled with hands on learning opportunities, field trips and presentations. Msm also works in association with the desert discovery center partnership to offier a free junior naturalist program to visiting educational institutions and persons of study throughout the year. This program offers participants invaluale environmental education and an opportunity to participate in seminars and discussions that lead to a broader awareness of enviornmental stewardship.”

“City mural tour program: the organization provides a walking tour of histoic murals. After a pesentation and slide show of the history of barstow, the visitors walk the streets of the city learning about the growing gallery of murals.”
