| Description | Grants | Expenses |
|---|---|---|
| Accomplishment One: This part of our program is fully supported by a grant for $49,000. All monies from this grant go toward the cost of freighting semi truckloads of fresh produce to our distribution site every week of the year. Feeding program recipients come and pick up the produce. The total weight of produce is typically 75,000 - 80,000 pounds of produce each week. Our volunteers forklift and hand load all this food into the recipient feeding program's vehicles. The receiving organizations are well-vetted established organizations that hand out the produce to the end user households. We serve 85 feeding recipient organizations and our estimate is they distribute to about 10,000+ household end users weekly. A household can be 1 senior citizen or as large as a family of 8. Our population would never be able to afford fresh fruits and vegetables to improve their health and well being. Our community is low socio-economically. It has vast cultural diversity, ethnic diversity, many non-english speaking groups, religious diversity, food-insecure and medically at-risk persons. Our produce includes a wide diversity of types and meets the needs of many of these culturally diverse populations. Many do not have means or transportation to go outside of their local neighborhoods so the food must be transported to them by the 85 feeding organizations we distribute to. There are nominal costs of safety equipment, water, beverages, snacks, give out bags, trash bags, etc that add to the trucking costs and meet or exceed this total grant allocation. I will add the $6,179 for the rest of the distribution expenses. | $56,000 | $55,179 |
| Accomplishment Two. Our second grant of $10,000 helps support the cost of freighting in fresh local bread and healthy bread products. Chips, sweets and the like are easy to procure but we do not provide any processed or "junk" food. Our bread and bread products are fresh and healthy. This aids in our goal to improve health and the quality of life of our recipients through healthy diets. The same 10,000 households as receive produce (Program Service Accomplishment One) have access to bread as well. Inland Harvest freights in 10,500 pounds of bread products each week of the entire year. The cost of trucking has risen for us from $10,000 to $15,750 in 2025. We provide bread at a loss to our organization. However our bread program fulfils our donor's requirement to comply with SB1383 in the State of California keeping organic waste out of landfills. | $15,000 | $15,750 |
| Accomplishment Three: Our program provides opportunities for volunteers to contribute and receive community service hours. Volunteers are sourced from colleges, schools, church programs, alcohol and drug recovery homes, retired and private citizens, and various corporate and businesses in the area. We do not put a value or track expenses for our volunteers. We have a grant to support the costs for water, beverages, snacks, safety equipment, etc for these volunteers. We use donations from individuals and small donors to cover some of these costs. We have a minimum of 60 volunteers staffing the distribution every thursday. Our goal is to instill a tradition of community service and volunteerism into our community. We do treat our volunteers to coffee, food, water, headlamps, rain ponchos, tools and equipment (gloves, etc) which we provide to total $4,656 last year 2025 | $5,000 | $4,656 |
