Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Education COMPACT a nontraditional Community-Based Organization. The City of Escondido was a founding partner of this organization which will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in October of this year. COMPACT was formed in 1989 with the purpose of expanding the education and career opportunities for youth and assisting them in becoming contributing citizens in our community. Over the years, the agency has grown greatly and with the support of the Board of Directors and community partners has expanded its programming always focused on the COMPACT vision of creating safe communities comprised of contributing, healthy, educated, empowered individuals. Today, COMPACT provides innovative services in youth and community leadership development, youth and adult workforce development, violence prevention/intervention/diversion services, homeless youth and healthy/safety/well-being programs that remain consistent with COMPACT?s mission is to create and implement high quality programs and servi

Governance Explanations

The tax return is sent to the executive board for review, approval and motion to accept the return. Then it will go to the entire compact board for their approval.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

Any contracts or subcontracts to be entered into are proposed by a program staff, reviewed by that components program director and then on to the executive director for approval. If there are any concerns the tiems are brought to the executive board.

The compensation for upper management personnel is done through a yearly review that is administered through the compacts finance committee with a recommendation then going to the board for their review and approval. The City of Escondido was a founding partner of this organization which will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in October of this year. COMPACT was formed in 1989 with the purpose of expanding the education and career opportunities for youth and assisting them in becoming contributing citizens in our community.
