Officers and directors are not compensated for their service to Christian Outreach Appeal. The Executive Director's salary is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure it is comparable to industry standards and also to the level of responsibility inherent in position.

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The Organization has applied the provisions of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes. Under ASC 740, nonpublic enterprises, including nonprofit organizations, are required to record a tax liability when substantial uncertainties exist as to whether certain income is exempt from federal, state, and local income tax. As of June 30, 2022, the Organization had no substantial uncertain income tax positions.

IRS990/Desc0Hot Meals and Social Services is COAs core program. Through this program COA provides warm meals, a food bank, clothing, and furniture to the homeless and poor. Warm meals are provided free of charge, twice daily, seven days a week, and lunch is provided the last Sunday of each month. The meals are prepared in COAs commercial kitchen, and served in COAs dining room. Groceries are provided five days a week while clothing is available once a week and furniture is provided upon availability. With approximately 170,000 hot meals served and over 400 meals delivered to low-income motel clients in fiscal year 2022, COA is the largest provider of free, warm meals in downtown Long Beach. As part of its social services program COA provides its community with many needed services including the following: oa mens transitional housing program which includes case management, olow-income housing units,oa weekly free legal clinic run to assist COAs community with legal needs,oa daily warm blanket distribution at 6:00pm, oLong Beachs only restrooms for the homeless, andorefrigeration and drop-off space for Project Angel Food.
