1. The pandemic prompted the coalition to establish a food pantry for families in need. Volunteers transported food to community members who had no means to visit the office where the food items were stored and distributed. Food was purchased and occasionally donated. 2. Many families were experiencing loss of jobs, ala income, and were struggling with rent and utilities. Families completed an emergency assistance form to request help with these expenses. Approved requests resulted in the coalition sending checks to rental offices and utility companies. 3. The court companion program continued with volunteers accompanying over two dozen individuals and families to court in albuquerque and other nearby communities. 4. The rapid response network alert system responded to 16 immigrants who were being met by ice. Volunteers showed up to the scene usually within 15 minutes. They were able to ensure that the immigrants were informed of their rights and provided with contact information for immigrant attorneys. Thankfully, the number of volunteers doubled during 2020. 5. The coalition continued to cover costs for more than a dozen immigrants in 2020. Costs were for (a) the application and civil surgeon exams required for permanent residence and deferred action; and for (b) applications for deferred action for childhood arrivals (daca

The community dialogues program was launched with two community programs focused on educating the immigrant community on immigrant issues and how they can increase their strength to thrive. Two churches provided the venue. Salary and benefits were incurred by the two staff leaders of the events. Also, expenses for paid for printing educational materials.
