Governance Explanations

The corporation is a membership organization consisting of three classes of members: 1) business member consisting of private or publicly traded organizations; 2) not-for-profit members such as chamber of commerce or business leagues; and 3) government and educational members consisting of organizations which are concerned with economic development in dupage county. Members are required to pay a fee. Each member organization has an individual director who is their representative. The individual directors are elected by the membership. All classes of members have voting rights. All classes of members are on the governing board and elect officers, appoint directors to committees and approve significant decisions of the governing body.
