Greg wathen, president and ceo responsible for the development, conduct, execution, and management of the policies, programs, and initiatives of the economic development coalition of southwest indiana (coalition) as directed by its board of directors in its mission of improving the long-term economic health and vitality of southwest indiana. In promoting southwest indiana's economic and community development, the president and ceo will strengthen and enhance relationships with key business and government leaders in the region and state, as well as on the national and international stage. President will take the lead for southwest indiana on major corporate retention and relocation initiatives; and, provide oversight and strategic direction for community development activities. Nancy deig, manager, economic development major responsibilities include generating and responding to project inquiries and site visits, organizing and conducting site tours for site selectors and corporate prospects tailored for specific project needs, and building and maintaining project database for tracking purposes. In addition, responsibilities include conducting extensive research relevant to project needs, maintaining and updating the regional site and building databases for the edc and state websites. Marketing responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing and participating in regional and state sales trips to site location consulting firms, attending conferences and trade shows relevant to regional needs, and preparing marketing materials for and representing the coalition at the semi-annual industrial asset management council forums. Local responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with the local real estate community, responding to ledo requests and assisting where needed, and any other opportunities that might arise.

The organization's president/ceo's compensation is managed by the personnel committee that makes recommendations, with no recommendations from the president, and then it is approved by the executive committee. We have a personnel committee that reviews recommendations made by the president/ceo for staff other than the president as it pertains to compensation. The committee consists of two board and executive committee members as well as outside legal counsel who has a focus on labor law.
