Mission

To make every childs potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. All budget requests at Douglas L Jamerson Jr Elementary must also align with the schools annual objectives: * Increase ELA scores to 62% of students reaching proficiency levels Increase Mathematics scores to 62% of students reaching proficiency levels increase science scores to 62% of students reaching proficiency levels eliminate the racial achievement gap in ELA mathematics science between black & non-black students increasing proficiency scores for each subgroup equal to all students showing proficiency. School-related event that will bring community members business partners to the school. School-related event that will bring families to the school thus actively engage families in their childs education furthering a positive home-school connection. Create a system of equitable practices that would build increase culture among all students.

Campus Enhancements - this year our school over 625 people celebrated our 20th anniversary PTA donated to the school the following during our community wide 20th anniversary celebration for which the entire community was invited Over 1000 people were in attendance and the PTA was a sponsor Total contributions were 14642 for this event all donated to the school broken down as follows 7500 for a courtyard improvement project creating a space for outdoor learning impacting 500 students 1141 for the Jamerson PBIS Positive behaviors signage20th anniversary memorial paver project 6000 for t-shirts for all staff and students around 625 t-shirts-$14,641
Community Hospitality - event were broken up into 3 major buckets First is Back to school events which totaled 2270 Over 500 people were in attendance at our back to school picnic This was open to all families and all staff at Jamerson were in attendance We provided lunch to all We also provided a staff breakfast that week for 125 staff members and a BooHooYahoo breakfast for parents in the PTA lounge around 50 people came to our lounge for breakfast 2nd large bucket of hospitality includes 1521 donated to the school to boost staff morale after our star ratings dropped and never had before Mrs Peters our principal did various breakfasts throughout the year to offer trainings writing nights etc Lastly for staff appreciation 1 solid week of activities in the spring and then birthdays throughout the school year we donated over 2186 in goodies to show how much we value our staff over 125 Lastly we had four parent socials that brought the parents together in a very tangible way allowing an open forum discussion team building activities and was much needed after things were now re-opening post pandemic This allowed our new parents to be HEAVILY involved which has made a tremendous impact on our engagement in both the PTA and in our overall school family PTA was able to partner with school administration to demonstrate to our families what resources are available and how to stay up to date on all information Four per year and on average around 75 people were in attendance-$7,631
Family Nights - event were broken up into 3 events 2358 for family skate night which had 525 in total attendance Valentines Day reading breakfast which had over 100 in attendance we ran out of food where books were given out via drawing and children came to the library where over 750 reading minutes were logged This built our community and helped our overall goal of increasing our schools ELA scores Last we hosted an annual SNOW Day for all 500 students who live in FL and might never get to see snow Building community and expanding the childrens knowledge by implementing STEM activities were offered during the event All staff were involved and fun in the FL sun was had by all-$7,551
