The organizational bylaws define that the member elects the organization's board of directors.

The form 990 is prepared by a third party cpa who provides the form to the organization for review. The organization provides a copy of the form 990 to the board members for review via email. The board members will be given seven days to make any comments. Comments received will be discussed and warranted changes will be made. Upon receiving approval, the cpa firm processes the return for signature and provides it to the organization who signs and files the return with the internal revenue service.

Somebody cares america (sca) provides resources for relief of victims of personal crisis and natural disasters. During 2024, the organization provided:hurricane beryl responded to devastation brought by beryl in both the carribean and brazoria county, tx. Sca partnered with the association of evangelical churches st. Vincent grenadines to provide groceries, hygiene and other essential items to families affected by the storm and supported clean up efforts on the island of mayreau with partner cri. The sca network also served 1,750 hot meals in brazoria county in communities without power, distributed 1.5k in gift cards and 96 comfort bears to families and helped 2 affected families with home repairs. Hurricane helene partnered with churches and local organizations in fl, ga, nc and tn to provide immediate relief and on-going assistance in communities affected by helene. In 2024 alone sca and network partners received, sent and helped distributed more than 120 truckloads of relief and recovery supplies filled with everything from food, water, hygiene items and cleaning supplies to generator, and building supplies; served 23,000 hot meals; provided over 10k in gift cards; supported volunteer team bases to acquire a forklift, housing and generators for extended operations. Provided grants to churches undertaking relief operations in their communities to help with response expenses. Hurricane milton supported a network of churches in central florida provide relief and recovery services in communites impacted by milton. This included helping procure and distribute 9+ truckloads of food, drinks, cleaning and hygiene supplies, generators and other essential items to individuals and families recovering, distributing 1.75k worth of gift cards; serving over 11,000 hot meals, and helping churches with response expenses. Various other response efforts -shipped 50 ukrainian audio bible to ukraine for distribution to soldiers and displaced people. -provided 3k in gift cards for distribution through our high plains chapter to families impacted by the wildfires. -provided 500 in gift cards for distribution through a partner church to families impacted by the tornados that ripped through port arthur, tx. -partnered with our jasper newton county chapter to respond to flooding in southeast texas; distributing gift cards (2k), socks and cleaning supplies as well as provide funds (18k) to assist with repairs to homes that sustained water damage. -continued helping families in pine island, fl recover from hurricane ian by providing over 28k in grants to 16 families to acquire appliances and essential furniture so they can move back into repaired homes. -granted christ church roswell with a 1k grant to provide food, water and other essentials to those forced to flee arizona wildfires.

The organization spreads god's word through mission activities and giving to other ministries. Somebody cares continued online leadership development activities to provide transforming leadership seminars with guest speakers that included: dr. Kevin harrison, kathy pollak, becky watt, linda znachko and others. Equipping of community leaders and law enforcement deputies had heightened focus through the distribution of leadership and law enforcement specific resources as well as group and one-on-one consultations in communities throughout the us. In addition, we engaged in leadership development internationally as our president travelled to austrailia and israel to meet, coach and personally mentor frontline leaders.

The ministry is a nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code as an other than private foundation, except on net income derived from an unrelated business activities. For the years ended december 31, 2024 and 2023, the ministry has not conducted unrelated business activities that are material to the financial statements taken as a whole. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes is included in the financial statements. The ministry believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The tax years for the previous three years are open to both federal and state examination.
