Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The main place, inc. Is a consumer-operated mental health recovery center that promotes recovery through peer support, socialization, education and training. By working together, consumers build better lives for themselves, gain employment, maintain independence and earn acceptance within their communities.

Each year we serve in excess of 700 adults in Licking/Knox counties who experience serious and persistent mental illness, including schizophrenia, bi-polar disorders, clinical depression, and panic and anxiety disorders. Without these services and support, many of our members would reside in a state psychiatric institution or other restrictive living environment.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

The agency is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and may be subject to income tax on unrelated business activities. No income tax provision has been included in the financial statements as the agency has determined it does not have unrelated business income subject to taxation. Annually, the agency files form 990, return of organizations exempt from income tax, with the internal revenue service (irs). This form is open for public inspection. The agency believes that it has appropriate support for all tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.
