“The organization has both individual and corporate members for a one year period.”

“Per the organization's charter, the association shall hold an annual business meeting at the beginning of the calendar year to elect a new bod and to conduct any other new business. The general membership votes during the business portion of the annual membership luncheon to accept or reject the association offices, board of directors, and the board of trustees.”

“The asmda charter has several provisions that require a majority vote of the membership for approval.”

“Once the form 990 is prepared by the accounting service, the form 990 is emailed to all current members of the asmda board of directors and the presidents of the asmda chapters for a period of 5 working days to allow time for review and comment. Any concerns submitted by these personnel are addressed and if required the form 990 is corrected. The form 990 is then signed and submitted.”

“All board members sign an annual conflict of interest statement and have a duty to disclose. If the board of directors or committee has reasonable cause to believe a member has failed to disclose actual or possible conflicts of interest, it shall inform the members of the basis for such belief and afford the member an opportunity to explain the alleged failure to disclose. If, after the hearing the member's response and after making further investigation as warranted by the circumstances, the board of directors or committee determines that the member has failed to disclose an actual or possible conflict of interest, it shall take appropriate disciplinary and corrective action.”

“Asmda will make available for public inspection, upon request and without charge: 1) original and amended annual information returns for a period of three years from the date the return was required to be filed (including any extensions) or was filed whichever is later, 2) its application for tax-exempt status, and 3) its current charter. Requests for public inspection of asmda documents shall be made in writing by mailing to the asmda post office box. As a minimum, the "public inspection of asmda charter and tax documents" process will be posted on the public asmda website and may be included on routine asmda correspondence and event brochures.”

To foster communications and relationships between government activities with responsibilities for or interests in air, space, and missile defense; local government organizations; and local industries.”

“Presented space and missile defense technical achievement and service excellence awards for both government and contractor employees in recognition of exceptional achievement in the development, test, and deployment or air, space, and missile defense systems during the 2024 asmda annual membership luncheon. Named individuals to the space and missile defense distinguished civilians wall of honor located in the davidson center at the us space and rocket center. Co-sponsored (with ndia and adaa) the 22nd space and missile defense symposium, huntsville, al, 5-8 august 2024. Organized and ran the 2024 adventures in engineering bringing 400 local area high school juniors for tours at redstone arsenal, al on 16 october 2024, to provide insights into stem jobs that are available to university graduates with a degree in science, math and engineering.”
