The Organizations By-Laws, policies, and procedures require immediate disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. This is monitored through an annual signed acknowledgement of the policy.

Changes in salaries and wages are based on staff research regarding expected market factors for the next year. This includes consulting periodic surveys of salaries, wages, and benefits for nonprofit organizations located in the Columbus area. These are then included in an overall budgeted salary and wage change pool for all employees. The salary and wage change pool for the year is reviewed and affirmed by the Board of Directors when the annual budget is approved. The Board of Directors completes an evaluation of the Executive Directors performance. When this is completed, the Board approves the Executive Directors compensation.

HOTH uses two strategies to provide affordable homeownership: completing comprehensive rehabs of existing houses and building new infill houses on vacant lots. Houses generally include features that improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility. Construction costs are subsidized with grant funds to make the houses affordable to low- and moderate-income households.

This includes consulting periodic surveys of salaries, wages, and benefits for nonprofit organizations located in the Columbus area. These are then included in an overall budgeted salary and wage change pool for all employees. The salary and wage change pool for the year is reviewed and affirmed by the Board of Directors when the annual budget is approved. The Board of Directors completes an evaluation of the Executive Directors performance. When this is completed, the Board approves the Executive Directors compensation.
