Activity 2

Look to Clermont Youth Leadership Program - 26 high school students built leadership skills and an appreciation for giving back to the community through service projects. The program is also accredited by the University of Cincinnati under the State of Ohio postsecondary option.

Activity 3

Education Leadership - Eight individuals attend program that expanded Clermont educational opportunities - in partnership with area schools and the Ohio College Access Network (OCAN), the program guides high school and career campus students through one-on-one advisory meetings with students and financial aid workshops for parents, in 2007 nearly 3600 students were served by the program. In addition, a high-school mentoring program was started to recruit mentors to work with promising but at risk students throughout their high school years. The mentors encourage the students to stay in school, go to college, build self-esteem and develop life skills to enrich their lives and strengthen the community. The programs has been very successful on the campuses of Amelia, Glen Este, CNE, Williamsburg and Live Oaks.Community Development Center (CDC) - The CDC focuses on affordable housing, community organizing and economic revitalization. 11.5 acres of land was purchased and development has begun on 28 affordable new homes in the Franklin Landing development. Site construction began in July 2008 and the first model home will be under construction. The "Don't Borrow Trouble" campaign program was organized to decrease inappropriate mortgage lending and foreclosures through outreach, education, counseling, legal assistance and advocacy. The land was sold on May 20, 2010.
