Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C

The organization has not changed the methods it uses to select or evaluate it's independent auditor from the prior years.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The internal revenue service has ruled that the foundation is a tax-exempt organization as defined under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Consequently, the foundation is exempt from federal income tax and certain excise taxes imposed on private foundations. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the financial statements. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the foundation and recognize a tax liability if the foundation has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the irs or other applicable taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the foundation and has concluded that as of september 30, 2024 and 2023, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The foundation is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no such audits in progress.

PART XI, LINE 2D - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:

Fundraising expense 29,298. Gaming expense 40,964. Cost of goods sold 15,320.

PART XII, LINE 2D - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:

Fundraising expense 29,298. Gaming expense 40,964. Cost of goods sold 15,320.

Part III, Line 1A

The foundation's collections include motorcycles, memorabilia, and works of art. Purchased collections are recorded at cost and are not depreciated because they are inexhaustible. Donated collections had an insured value of approximately $2,105,060 and $2,085,760 as of september 30, 2024 and 2023, respectively. The foundation's museum exhibits include motorcycles on loan from individuals, which are not capitalized. Loaned collections have an insured value of approximately $2,914,073 and $2,781,073 as of september 30, 2024 and 2023, respectively

Part V, Line 4

The organization's endowment includes donor-restricted endowment funds, income of which is expendable to support the general operations and future exhibitions of the organization, and investments limitied as the use, which is designated for future capital growth. The board designated endowment funds are subject to an investment and spending policy that attempt to provide predictable stream of funding to programs supported by the endowment while seeking to maintain the purchasing power of the endowment assets.
