The mission of the st. Joseph community health foundation, inc. Is: the st. Joseph community health foundation, sponsored by the poor handmaids of jesus christ, stewards resources to: respond to community needs with grants; leverage collaboration with community partners; engage in transformational initiatives. We serve the poor in body, mind and spirit to achieve quality health and wellness, focusing on the community of allen county, indiana and may respond to needs among other underserved populations. Is organized and operated to support the work of the poor handmaids of jesus christ (provincialate of convent ancilla domini), continuing their legacy of service, established in the 1860s by st. Joseph community health foundation is exempt under section 501(c) (3)of the code because it is included in a group ruling issued to united states conference of cathoic bishops, located in washington, dc. The foundation is also internally supported. Because the foundation meets the definition of an integrated auxiliary of a church under reg 1.6033-2(h), it is not required to file an annual return. Therefore, this will be the final form 990 filed by the st. Joseph community health foundation.

Donated funds to be used for the purpose of providing non-profits with funds in support of burn trauma, first response, burn education and other related areas in accordance with the foundation's mission statement. Scholarship funds to be used to advance studies of radiology by area students.

The foundation is exempt from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (irc) and qualifies for the 60 percent charitable contribution deduction limitation. The st. Joseph community health foundation, inc. And catherine kasper place have been classified as organizations that are not private foundations under section 509(a) of the irc. The foundation is also exempt from state income taxes. The foundation provides liabilities for uncertain income tax positions when a liability is probable and estimable. Management believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken or expected to be taken and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that should be recognized, measured or disclosed in the consolidated financial statements. Management believes the foundation is no longer subject to examination by taxing authorities for years before december 31, 2016.
