“There are two classes of members. Group members include club and business membership classes. Club members are synchronized swimming clubs, educational institutions or other organizations that participate in competition. Athlete members include individuals that join in order to participate in events. Non-athlete members include professional and friends of synchro classes. Professional members include coaches, judges, instructors, officials, and administrators participating in the conduct of synchronized swimming. Friends of synchro are individuals who wishes to support synchronized swimming and its programs.”

“The board of governors is elected by the membership. They are then responsible for electing the 6 board members. The athlete executive committee is elected by athlete members. They are then responsible for electing 3 athlete board members.”

“The board of governors is responsible for the voting approval of bylaw changes.”

“The form 990 is prepared by an independent accounting firm based on information provided by management. The return is then reviewed by the audit committee prior to filling with the irs.”

“All board members are required to sign an annual declaration of any conflicts of interest. Any conflicts brought to attention are then reviewed on a case by case basis. Conflicts are disclosed through a conflict of interest disclosure form. The relevant committee, team or group of members may determine whether the individual with the conflict needs to refrain from participation or decision-making, or what action is necessary to respond to the conflict of interest. If the relevant committee, team, or group of members be unable to decide on the proper reponse to the conflict of interest, or should the individual with the conflict of interest disagree with the response, the conflict of interest should be referred to the ethics committee. The ethics committee, after full consideration, will advise the board of directors as to the proper response to the conflict of interest. The board of directors will then make the final, binding determination as to the proper response to the conflict of interest.”

Ngb (national governing bodies of olypmic and pan american sports) compensation surveys and comparable market data are used to determine compensation. The organization documented the deliberation and decision through contract documentation and meeting minutes.”
