Our audit firm prepared this 990 and reviewed it with Executive Management. We distributed the report to all Board members and addressed their questions before filing with the IRS. The Board of Directors voted to accept the 990 as documented in the meeting minutes.

Fiscal Year 2024 ended with a deficit of $841K. Cash Contributions were flat, but revenues from Donated Food and Unrealized Investment gains were higher. Higher expenses for Food Purchases, Personnel, Distribution and Operating drove the deficit.Liquid Assets declined by $6.3M to fund capital projects and operations, though Operating Reserves were maintained at required levels.We expect to continue to experience elevated grocery purchases and help our partners distribute across our entire network. Concern remains for addressing expected higher customer needs and persistent inflation, as well as economic uncertainty.

IRS990/Desc0The Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) works to connect our hungry neighbors with nutritious food, stabilizing families today while helping them access resources for tomorrow. We collaborate with a network of more than 600 partners, which includes food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs, and senior sites, to provide food to over half a million individuals across 20 central and eastern Ohio counties. In the past year, MOFC distributed over 80 million pounds of food and groceries; approximately two-thirds consisted of fresh foods such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and bread. In total, these efforts allowed us to provide enough food for more than 190,000 meals each day. For every $1.00 donated to MOFC, the organization is able to leverage $5.97 in groceries and provide enough food for 3.7 meals.
