Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, line 2

Clovernook Industrial Manufacturing is under contract with the Library of Congress, distributes books in adaptive format, including audio, and related materials for the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C:

The Finance Committee is responsible for audit oversight. This process has not changed in the current year.

Financial Statement Notes

Part III, Line 4:

Included in property and equipment are capitalized collections of works of art, historical treasures and similar assets. Items added to the collections are capitalized at cost if purchased or at estimated fair value on the acquisition date if donated. Collection items sold or removed are reported as unrestricted or temporarily restricted gains or losses depending on donor stipulations, if any, placed on the items at the time of acquisition.

Part V, Line 4:

Endowment assets include board-designated funds, as well as those assets of donor-restricted funds that Clovernook must hold in perpetuity. As approved by the Board of Trustees, the endowment assets are invested in a manner that is intended to maximize long-term total return while preserving principal and enhancing the purchasing power of its assets in order to provide for current and future portfolio spending needs.

Part X, Line 2:

The Organization is a not-for-profit organization exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and a similar provision of state law. The Organization is not considered a private foundation. The Organization's IRS Form 990 is subject to review and examination by federal and state authorities. The Organization believes it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and therefore, does not have any uncertain income tax positions that are material to the financial statements.

Part XI, Line 2D - Other Adjustments:

Fundraising Expenses 18,232.

Part XII, Line 2D - Other Adjustments:
