Governance Explanations

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 11B

The prepared form 990 is reviewed and approved by the members of the governing body before the return is filed with the irs.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

In connection with any actual or possible conflict of interest, an interested person must disclose the existence of the conflict and be given the opportunity to disclose all material facts to the board or executive committee. After disclosure of the financial or non-financial interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the interested person, he/she shall leave the board or executive committee meeting while the determination of a conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. The remaining board or executive committee members shall decide if a conflict of interest exists. Once the conflict of interest has been appropriately disclosed, the board (excluding the board member disclosing and any other conflicted board member) must decide whether or not those conflicted board members should vote on the matter (this is minimum), participate in any debate, or be present in the room during the debate and voting.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

The independent membership of the board of directors annually conducts a performance reveiw of the executive director. The executive directors compensation is reviewed and compared to public information about compensation in positions at similar organizations. The board approves compensation for the executive director with an official vote with discussion and results recorded in meeting minutes.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 19

The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.

These programs integrate practical learning experiences into the curriculum, allowing students to apply business concepts in real-world scenarios. By focusing on critical thinking and teamwork, the school-based programs not only enhance academic learning but also cultivate a culture of social innovation and responsibility. The program culminates in kidpreneur day, where students launch and sell their handmade products for the first time to people in the school community, providing a hands-on opportunity to experience the rewards of their entrepreneurial efforts.

Teen ambassadors: ceos of tomorrow's teen ambassador program is a paid employment opportunity for high school students offered in both spring and fall semesters. In this program, students assume two key roles. As teen money mentors, they receive training in financial wellness education and deliver self-designed, hands-on financial workshops to peers in youth- serving agencies. They also support our trademarked impactful creations by developing innovative business kits in a box for youth each year. This program empowers teens with valuable skills in financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship while positively impacting their communities.
