“The specific objectives and tax exempt purpose of this organization shall be: (a) to commission and place in a public park in lake geneva, wisconsin, a memorial to honor gary gygax for his literary achievement in creation of the role-playing game "dungeons & dragons- and other accomplishments; (b) to maintain this memorial for a period of time as required by mandate of the municipality; (c) to sponsor informational events open to the public which focus on his work and to engage in other activities that relate to public education on his achievement and (d) to establish a scholarship program in his name for students with a demonstrated need for assistance to study at an accredited college or university. To date this organization has received unaminous approval from the city of lake geneva to place the memorial in library park and is receiving contributions from the public for the memorial. The foundation has accomplished the following goals: 1) dedicated a park bench in gary gygax's name in his favorite spot in his favorite park, 2) successfully petitioned the city of lake geneva to proclaim gary gygax's birthday, july 27th, henceforth as "gary gygax day" in the city, 3) established the appendix n alcove dedicated to gary gygax in the lake geneva public library, 4) laid the gen con founder's stone at horticultural hall celebrating gary gygax's founding of gen con, 5) created the adventurer's map to lake geneva, a walking tour map of gary gygax's life, 6) donated a re-creation of gary gygax's sand table in the basement of 330 center street, the birthplace of d & d, 7) established the wizard of lake geneva(tm) exhibit at the geneva lake museum dedicated to the life and legacy of gary gygax, 8) created an interpretive sign for horticultural hall celebrating its place in gen con history, 9) created an interpretive sign at 330 center street celebrating its history as the birthplace of d & d, 10) founded the annual dragon days(tm) fantasy festival, celebrating lake geneva as the birthplace of fantasy and gary gygax's legacy behind it, and 11) engaged in a series of dedication ceremonies and a public media campaign to inform the public about gary gygax's all other accomplishments and contributions to the city of lake geneva and the world.”
