Mission

The mission of the Vascular Access Certification Corporation ("VACC") is to certify those professionals in healthcare and related disciplines working in the field of vascular access.VACC's VA-BC certification is accredited through the National Commission for Certifiying Agencies and is considered a national multidisciplinary certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center ("ANCC") for Magnet recognition. In addition, VACC's VA-BC certification is on the Veterans Administration approved listing for nursing certifications.

“VACC's program director and leased employees review its annual Form 990 for accuracy and to ensure that all data is as accurate as possible. In addition, the Form 990 is reviewed by VACC's officers and directors prior to its filing to ensure the board's agreement with its contents.”

“All VACC volunteers and staff are required to complete and sign a written conflict of interest statement. The volunteers and staff are required to notify VACC of any conflicts of interest and any business, financial, personal and or organizational interests and affiliations which are or could be perceived to be a conflict of interest.During the tenure of services to the VACC and for a period of at least two (2) years after service to the VACC or its entities, or employment on behalf of the VACC, the individual must not become directly involved in any preparation or presentation of instructional materials or programs designed to prepare persons to complete the certification process.”

IRS990/Desc0During 2014, VACC continued vascular access certification for a broad range of health care professionals and clinicians actively engaged in the practice of vascular access. Candidates for certification include, but are not limited to, RN's, MD's, PA's, NP's, LPN's, LVN's, educators, radiology technicians, respiratory therapists, infection preventionists and EMS professionals.The VA-BC exam is offered twice yearly in June and December. VACC is committed through credentialing to raising the bar in the speciality of vascular access through Evidence Based Practice, professionalism and advocating safe and responsible practice for patients and families.
