“=========statement of program service accomplishments============= line 28. The next step academy (nsa) is a day-treatment program serving the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum and changing lives through therapeutic education. Individuals who receive services through nsa experience significant improvements in communication, socialization and behavior, which are the core deficits of autism. As a result, they are able to learn at a faster rate and achieve a higher quality of life. In practical terms, specific improvements that lead to a higher quality of life for children in our program include, but are not limited to, learning to speak, learning to communicate on an adaptive communication device, becoming toilet trained, learning to communicate instead of engaging in violent behavior, making a friend for the first time, learning to dress self, learning to work in a small group setting, learning to write letters, learning activities of daily living, learning pre-vocational skills and finding leisure activities that are enjoyable and socially appropriate. In addition, we have designed a vocational training program in an effort to ensure that individuals with autism have access to gainful and meaningful employment. Early detection and early intervention are keystone concepts in the effective treatment of autism. As a result, we have designed an early childhood curriculum that will support early detection and intervention in a childcare setting, targeting the general public. Families of children enrolled in the program receive specialized support, training and financial assistance as needed. Nsa provides a portion of direct services, at no cost, to children and families that would otherwise not have access to these services. The next step academy has selected the institute for special needs children (insnc) to provide the service and administration of its program. Insnc has a specialized curriculum and highly trained staff that are uniquely suited to meet the needs of nsa and accomplish it's mission, to change lives through therapeutic education. The two entities have a common relationship with lauren abel. To safeguard against potential conflicts of interest, lauren abel recuses herself from any board votes on matters that involve the contract relationship between nsa and insnc. Line 29. Rhythmic movement training international (rmti) is a gentle approach to establishing, strengthening and retraining foundations for learning, helping a wide variety of individuals overcome learning, sensory, postural, emotional and behavioral challenges. Rmti provides professional training and licensing in movement-based primitive reflex integration programs, offering a worldwide network of instructors and consultants to the community. Individuals who utilize the rmti method report significant positive changes in their lives, from children with special needs to veterans suffering from ptsd to individuals who have dramatic brain injuries to chronic neck and back pain. We have designed our curriculum to make it easy for our international community to access and utilize. In addition, we have translations of our materials into over 13 different languages.”

INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVE SERVICES THROUGH NSA EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS IN COMMUNICATION, SOCIALIZATION AND BEHAVIOR, WHICH ARE THE CORE DEFICITS OF AUTISM. AS A RESULT, THEY ARE ABLE TO LEARN AT A FASTER RATE AND ACHIEVE A HIGHER QUALITY OF LIFE. IN PRACTICAL TERMS, SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENTS THAT LEAD TO A HIGHER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN IN OUR PROGRAM INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, LEARNING TO SPEAK, LEARNING TO COMMUNICATE ON AN ADAPTIVE COMMUNICATION DEVICE, BECOMING TOILET TRAINED, LEARNING TO COMMUNICATE INSTEAD OF ENGAGING IN VIOLENT BEHAVIOR, MAKING A FRIEND FOR THE FIRST TIME, LEARNING TO DRESS SELF, LEARNING TO WORK IN A SMALL GROUP SETTING, LEARNING TO WRITE LETTERS, LEARNING ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING, LEARNING PRE-VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND FINDING LEISURE ACTIVITIES THAT ARE ENJOYABLE AND SOCIALLY APPROPRIATE.
