DescriptionGrantsExpenses
2 day Annual meeting and Trade Show for Growers to obtain current research, agronomic practices, and marketing information. Industry, USDA/University researchers plus the National Peanut Board presented presented the program information. Over 100 growers, educators, crop consultants and peanut industry staff attended.--
The Association exhibited at the Mississippi Nurses Convention promoting introduction of peanuts to infants to reduce the chance of developing an allergy and the benefits of peanuts in diabetic diets along with heart-healthy snack. The 400 registered nurses and 800 nursing students attending the 3 day convention were given educational literature and interacted with peanut staff working the exhibit booth.--
In order to promote peanut nutrition and use in school lunch rooms, the Association exhibited at the Mississippi School Nutrition Association annual convention. 900 School lunchroom workers and dietitians attended the convention where MPGA passed out educational literature on the healthy benefits of peanuts and peanut butter for use in school lunches. The peanut allergy situation was also addressed.--
