“Currently the active committees are the finance and the education committee”
“The form 990 is reviewed by the treasurer and then distributed to all board members for review. Lastly, the president reviews and approves the 990.”
“All board members review the policies, certify compliance, and answer specific questions related to the policy upon joining the board and board members are required to notify the organizaiton of any conflicts as they arise. Since the 2018 transition from having paid staff to becoming a volunteer organization, the organization acquired outside accountants for bookkeeping. This provided an additional level of separation and significantly narrowed the role of the treasurer from handling individual transactions/reports for disbursements and reporting to a primarily oversight role. All program activities and expenses involve active participation from the family advisory committee (fac) resulting in transparency for selection of vendors and related costs. For the annual commemoration, which is the most costly program, the fund engages a professional event planner to assist the fac and president in the selection of vendors.”

THE FUND WAS IN THE EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPING CONTACTS AND SUPPORT FOR THIS PROGRAM BEFORE THE COVID PANDEMIC. DURING THE PANDEMIC ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CURRICULUM CONTINUED, ALTHOUGH AT A SLOWER PACE, HOWEVER INTERACTION WITH EDUCATORS WAS ESSENTIALLY STOPPED UNTIL 2023. | IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | THE FORM 990 IS REVIEWED BY THE TREASURER AND THEN DISTRIBUTED TO ALL BOARD MEMBERS FOR REVIEW. LASTLY, THE PRESIDENT REVIEWS AND APPROVES THE 990. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | ALL BOARD MEMBERS REVIEW THE POLICIES, CERTIFY COMPLIANCE, AND ANSWER SPECIFIC QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE POLICY UPON JOINING THE BOARD AND BOARD MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY THE ORGANIZAITON OF ANY CONFLICTS AS THEY ARISE. FOR THE ANNUAL COMMEMORATION, WHICH IS THE MOST COSTLY PROGRAM, THE FUND ENGAGES A PROFESSIONAL EVENT PLANNER TO ASSIST THE FAC AND PRESIDENT IN THE SELECTION OF VENDORS. |
