To develop a local food infrastructure for long term sustainability and meaningful community impact and to preserve, root, and grow a diverse local food culture by maintaining an authentic space for all people to share community, fair food, and healthy lifestyles while providing a sustainable living for producers who steward the earth.

Provide a unique, three-tiered approach to food access through distribution of food (at farmers markets), educational outreach programming and financial incentives to purchase food through double SNAP and My Market programs.

“The Board of Directors is responsible for hiring and establishing the compensation of the Executive Director by identifying compensation that is reasonable and not excessive. The Board conducts a review of similarly-sized peer organizations in Atlanta of their senior leadership's compensation. Additionally, the compensation is determined annually based on performance of the overall Organization and performance of the Executive Director. The Executive Committee recommends compensation and it is approved by the full Board of Directors annually. The Board provides changes in compensation details in writing to the Executive Director.”

The majority of small farms in Georgia make less than $20,000 a year and live below the poverty line. Our vendor support program provides professional development and support to help farmers get closer to making a fair living wage. In our communities, we work with low-income community partners to educate participants about eating local, fresh food affordably and on a SNAP budget. We increase and promote financial incentives for low-income consumers through doubling SNAP dollars for eligible participants and other financial incentive programs. Since 2011, we have provided nearly $900,000 in double SNAP benefits to low-income families, doubling their purchasing power at the markets and making fresh fruits and vegetables more financially accessible.
