“The springfield hindu community organization is formed to promote hindu religious and cultural values amongst its members and their families. The organization conducts regular sunday schools for the children of the members and other hindu community members about the hindu scriptures and hindu religious funcions. Annually the members hold diwali function which is a major hindu festival. At this function, the kids are exposed to hindu art and dances. Further throughout the year, the members celebrate various hindu religious and cultural events. The events are open to the general public. The ogranization plans to invite hindu spirtual leaders to provide lectures and workshops for its members on hindu philosophy,custom and traditions. The organization also provides scholorship monies to economically disadvantaged students enrolled in the local community college, through public donation it receives.”

“The organization organized diwali a major hindu religious and cultural festival. The members in the community and the general public were invited to attend the event. The members of the community both adults and children presented various cultural programs highlighting the rich hindu tradition. An art exibit was also open for the community to view various cultural heritage of india. The community also celebrated some religious functions throughout the year.”
