“In march 2017, the organization's board of directors approved an affiliation agreement with the connecticut business & industry association (cbia). Under this agreement, the organization will continue to maintain its independent tax-exempt status and board of directors. The organization has partnered with cbia's education & workforce partnership under cbia's public policy division and operates alongside the cbia education foundation. The organization's board of directors guide education reform policy on a regular basis; however, the cbia board of directors shall have the final say over policy positions and strategies. The organization is responsible for raising sufficient funds for operations as well as paying a management fee to cbia annually to cover cbia's costs for management and operation of the organization. Funds currently held by the organization shall be used exclusively for the continued operation of the organization. Cbia will assume all management and operational responsibilities except for those under the purview of the organization's board of directors.”

Regularly and consistently monitored and enforced compliance with the conflict of interest policy by requiring all officers, directors, trustees and key employees to report annually on whether or not they have any potential conflicts. Each reported conflict and potential conflict are reviewed and resolved by the board chair and executive director as appropriate.”
