“The term limits of Board members and succession were updated. Under the revised bylaws, each director serves until their 3-year term expires. Directors may serve for two (2) consecutive terms. Additionally, there is a provision for extended service for those elected as Vice Chair, allowing them to exceed the standard six-year term limit in order to fulfill the roles of Vice Chair, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. However, their total service must not exceed eight years. To uphold the Association's consumer-focused mission, the board maintains a restriction that no more than one distillery employee may serve as a director at any given time. This ensures that the board remains representative of its broader membership and avoids potential conflicts of interest.”

“There are 3 types of members: Individual members, Individual Lifetime members, and Corporate members. All members receive discounted registration to the various events conducted across the country. Additionally, the membership elects the board of directors from a slate of candidates forwarded from the Nominating Committee.”

“The Form 990 is initially reviewed by the Treasurer for accuracy and completeness. Following this review, the draft return is presented to the Board of Directors for their review and approval prior to submission to the IRS.”
